Liberty Fire Company Participates in Fire Prevention Activities Throughout October

Volunteers & Community Since 1908.

The Liberty Fire Company had a busy October, participating in several fire prevention programs throughout the Schuylkill Haven community. This year’s theme, **”Charge Into Fire Safety,”** focused on battery charging safety and preventing fires involving electronic devices.

Our members visited Lil’ Rascals Daycare Center, Doodlebug Preschool, and Schuylkill Haven Elementary School, giving students an opportunity to meet firefighters, explore our apparatus, and learn about fire safety.

Liberty also joined Rainbow Hose Fire Company #1 and Schuylkill Hose Company #2 for the annual Fire Prevention Week program at Schuylkill Haven Area Middle School. Students in grades 5–7 attended a presentation on battery charging safety and toured Engines 63-14 and 63-12 and Rescue 63-51.

A crew of nine Liberty members also visited Penn State Schuylkill for a fire prevention and bonfire event. Approximately 40 students attended, learning about fire safety, asking questions, and exploring our firefighting equipment.

We’d like to thank the schools, students, and staff who welcomed us, along with our volunteer firefighters who dedicated their time to these events.

**Fire prevention remains an important part of our mission, and we’re proud to continue educating our community throughout the year.**
