August 20, 2019 – Liberty Responds To 5 Calls

August 20, 2019 –  Just before 11:00hrs, Stations 1&4 were dispatched to the 400 block of West Columbia Street, Schuylkill Haven Borough, for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. As units became en-route, the communications center advised of a pick-up truck into a house. Chief 63 (Motko) arrived moments later and confirmed a single vehicle into the front porch of a house with confinement and injuries.

Squad 63-64 arrived and went to work securing the vehicle and removing the driver’s side door to access the patient. Shortly after, EMS decided to fly the patient. Chief 63 directed the Squad and Station 2 to setup a landing zone at the Grace EC Church on Earl Stoyer Drive.

As both the Squad and 63-12 were responding to the landing zone,  the Schuylkill Haven RIT Team was dispatched to the 1100 block of Arch St. in Pottsville for a working house fire. Apparatus diverted and Station 1 was requested to handle the landing zone.

Later in the evening, Stations 1&4 were requested to the area of Station 4 for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Crews responded and assisted with a minor vehicle accident and fluids down.

Just before 20:00hrs, the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department along with Fire Districts 41, 68-5 and 52-2 were dispatched to the Cressona Mall for a report of smoke in the structure. Crews investigated the cause and it was determined due to a power surge/outage in the area. Crews cleared shortly after.
