April 28, 2011 – At 14:58 Stations 1 & 4 were dispatched to the area of 1880 Long Run Road for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. First arriving E-737 was met with a two vehicle accident and no injuries. Crews assisted with traffic control, cleared debris from the roadway and waited until the tow company arrived. April 27, 2011 – At line of severe storms brought strong winds that gusted in excess of 60 MPH causing multiple calls for the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department. Stations 1, 2, & 4 responded to multiple calls of trees down in the borough and North Manheim Township throughout night and early morning hours. Chief 722 (Sattizahn) was in command of the incidents.
April 24, 2011 – On Easter morning at 06:48 Stations 2 & 4 were dispatched to the area of 490 Route 61 for a fuel spill in the northbound lanes. Crews arrived on scene and used large amounts of floor dry to absorb the spill which covered more than a mile stretch of highway. Personnel from Station 2 discovered the leaking tractor trailer behind Redner’s Market and contained the fluids.
April 21, 2011 – At 10:32 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 16 Tumbling Run Road (The Schuylkill Haven Water Treatment Plant) for an automatic fire alarm. Just as units began to respond SCCC advised of a false activation and all units were placed available by Chief 722.
April 11, 2011 – At 12:16 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched along with Fire District 41 (Cressona) to the Surgery Center of Pottsville (Cressona Mall) for an automatic fire alarm. Just as all units began to respond Chief 723 was notified by SCCC that all units could cancel.
April 8, 2011 – At 13:47 Stations 2 & 4 were dispatched to the area of Guldin Street and 18 Longview Drive for a possible brush fire. Just as units became en-route Chief 722 (Sattizahn) advised of a controlled burn and all units were placed available.
April 6, 2011 – At 11:32 Station 1 (for Ladder 725) was dispatched along with Fire Districts 56, 42, 47, 39, and Pottsville RIT to 125 Laurel Road, Deer Lake for a structure fire. As the Ladder hit the road, Chief 56-01 arrived on scene and was met with a working fire and immediately struck a second alarm adding Stations 2 & 4 to the call. Crews arrived on scene and assisted fire suppression and overhaul of the structure. Squad 739 and Rescue 726 utilized their cascade systems to fill air cylinders. All Schuylkill Haven units were then placed available by Chief 56-01 (Zimmerman) after approximately 1.5 hours.
April 6, 2011 – At 10:42 the Schuylkill Haven Rapid Intervention Team was dispatched to 358 Bloody Spring Road, Bernville, Berks County assisting Berks Company 50 (Strausstown Fire) with a working barn fire. As the RIT team was in route via E-733 Berks command advised to respond under caution. E-733 was then placed available a short time later. Chief 722 (Sattizahn) was in command.
